Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHSS) recently updated their policy for short term rental spa cleaning.

Instead of requiring spas to be drained and cleaned in between guests, spas can simply be cleaned. According to the Montana DPHHS, this cleaning should include:

• Clean, sanitize, and rinse hot tub filters.

• Maintain appropriate hot tub chemistry levels (e.g., chlorine, bromine, pH, etc.) consistent with the hot tub manufacturer guidelines.

• Display and maintain documentation of cleaning and maintenance performed.
